March Fruktletter

March is here, and spring is finally upon us!

This month we have intensified our work in the orchard with loads of pruning and planning for the coming months. Our Goal is to reestablish this beautiful orchard by the seaside in Skåne. It is not just about growing exceptionally good fruit, but also reinvigorating life in the soil. With a long history of conventional farming, it's now time for nature to return to the orchard. One of our main tools is to work with the soil and what grows in it. Moving away from monotonous grassrows that’s been compacted by the weight of heavy machinery. This year we have chosen a handful of plants, crops and herbs that will join the trees in between the rows. We have picked out a handful of varieties that we think will be suitable for the purpose. The goal is to introduce more biodiversity in the orchard and increase microbial life in the soil, which in terms will help the plants to access locked up nutrients. More on this later.

We are also releasing two new Cuvees!

2020 Apple Road. A rich oxidative classic cider made with 100% Pigeon apples

2020 Plumenian Rhapsody. Our original Co-fermentation cuvee with plums, grapes and apples

For the Scandinavian market we are also launching two new alcohol free beverages: Must and Piquette Spritz! We will follow up with more detailed presentations of these new additions next week.

While we are in a good place and slowly see things getting back to normal, this can't be said for what is going on in Ukraine. We condemn this utterly senseless war and our thoughts go out to the Ukrainian people and everyone we know who is personally affected by this. We sincerely hope that this will be over soon, and that Ukraine will be a safe place for its people. If you are a restaurant, organization or similar and want to do something with us that benefits the situation in Ukraine, please reach out to us, and we will be happy to get involved and aid you. We will also donate 20% of our webshop revenue from march-april, when the fruktstoreo is online.
